I am definitely a country girl that loves to garden, quilt, preserve, hunt, and read. I love my family more than anything in the world. I live with my husband of fifty years. We have a son, daughter, granddaughter and grandson. We live on a 500+ acre farm in Virginia with about 75 cows & bulls, thirty chickens, and three dogs.
First Ice Event Winter 2022-23
We’ve had worse but this is bad enough. 31* and ice everywhere.
It got so cold so fast this morning that Old Glory froze solid in the wind. She’s froze solid!!
The trees are covered with ice and the power keeps blinking.
It took 15 minutes for the ice to melt off the truck with the defroster going full blast.
It’s still 31* at 12:19 p.m. and sleeting heavy with rain. Everyone be safe out there. I just saw on Weatherbug that our area will get hit with it again next Thursday.
I'm just a country girl living life my way on a farm with my husband and our critters. We've been married fifty years and been farming all of that time. We've moved from one family farm to one of our own and then to another family farm that has been in the family through at least six generations. In this day and age we could not have picked a better life!
